Pagsibol
In the past three PAGHILOM festivals, we saw the enthusiastic reception and qualitative growth of the student participants and their outputs especially in the workshops and art talks integral to the PAGHILOM program. These affirm Artletics’ mission of empowering the youth to transform their communities through art and art education. This coming year, we are focusing on equipping and guiding young creatives in their career paths by reframing the art festival as an alternative platform for art education.
The festival-seminar is entitled “PAGSIBOL”, meaning germination or growth, to refer to the budding artists who are in the pubescent stage of creative development and to the catalyzing power of art education in honing their potential. The PAGSIBOL Youth Arts Camp and Festival is an intensive 2-day training program and art festival that aims to equip educators to develop and convince young creatives to continue in their arts track and pursue careers as artists and creatives. We have designed the festival program and its accompanying module as a complement to the K-12 Contemporary Philippine Art from the Regions (CPAR) class. It will provide valuable training and resource materials for students and art educators to effectively facilitate the teaching of CPAR in the K-12 levels.
